As a long-standing advocate for junior volleyball, the JVA will once again host a dynamic lineup of sessions at the AVCA Convention tailored specifically for Club Directors, Coaches, and Administrators. This year’s offerings include the highly regarded Club Management Track, as well as dedicated sessions for both indoor and sand volleyball—providing valuable insight, strategies, and networking opportunities designed to elevate club operations and athlete development across the country.

An Official’s Impact: Changing the Narrative By Teaching the Next Generation

When Daniel was 10 years old a friend from school invited him to play volleyball because his team needed one more player. Although he’d never played before, his friend assured him it was easy, he just needed to serve the ball over the net. Daniel realized volleyball was not easy at all, but he was immediately drawn to the sport. Daniel’s experience with Officials as a player left him somewhat frustrated, because he felt there was a lack of positive interaction. He felt compelled to change the narrative.

Twin Cities Elite Volleyball Club Launches a Three-Part Holistic Health and Wellness Series with Support from the JVA Grant Program

Twin Cities Elite Volleyball is a small, nonprofit volleyball club that offers a wide range of programming to meet athletes at every stage of their journey, from developmental leagues designed for players who are new to the sport, to competitive travel teams. Two years ago, the club’s leadership saw a growing need to support players in areas such as mental health, nutrition, recovery, and overall lifestyle balance. They wanted to create a program that equips athletes not only with the physical tools to succeed, but also the knowledge and habits that will carry them into adulthood as healthy, well-rounded individuals. In the 2023–24 season, they applied funds from the JVA Grant Program to launch a three-part Holistic Health and Wellness series.

An Athleader’s Journey: Uplifting Children in India Through Beads of Hope

Miah was introduced to volleyball in the 4th grade by her mom who also played volleyball when she was young, and encouraged her to try it. Heading into her fourth year as a libero for Champion Volleyball Club, Miah has found a mission that brings her as much joy as volleyball, which is supporting the education and nourishment of impoverished children in India through her nonprofit.
